The School of Liberal Arts was one of the earliest-founded schools in Huanggang Normal University. This school offers 2 undergraduate programs (Chinese language and literature, teach Chinese as a foreign language) and one junior college program (education of Chinese language and literature). Currently, there are over 1,400 undergraduate and junior college students at this school. And it is one of the largest schools in this university.
School of Arts now has 53 full-time teachers, among whom 13 are professors, 2 are associate professors and 66% are holders of senior technical titles. And 18 of the teachers are doctors. Among all the teachers, 4 are invited by famous universities like Wuhan University and Central China Normal University to work as part-time master’s tutors. Besides, School of Liberal Arts has employed over 20 famous scholars both at home and abroad to work as visiting professors and give lectures irregularly.
The Chinese language and literature profession of this school is a brand major of Hubei province. The classical Chinese literature discipline was chosen as provincial level key discipline for two times. This school also has 3 provincial master’s programs (classical Chinese literature, literature and arts, linguistics). The classical Chinese literature, literature and arts, linguistics and applied linguistics are university-level key disciplines, etc. In addition, this school has special document museum.
In recent five years, the teachers of this school have held and participated in 3 state-level key scientific research projects. It has held over 60 municipal department level scientific research and teaching research projects. The total research fund amounts to over 1 million yuan. It has also published over 800 academic theses, of which, over 90 were published in authoritative, important and core journals, over 80 were cited by CSSCI. Besides, it has published over 20 academic monographs and 16 teaching materials. Of all the publication, 4 have won scientific research achievement prizes at provincial and ministerial level or above and 3 have won teaching achievement prizes at provincial and ministerial level. In recent 5 years, over 300 teachers of this school have participated in the academic activities at provincial level, state-level and international level.
In recent five years, the students of this school have published over 1,000 articles in national and provincial journals. They have also published one academic monograph, 2 river novels, etc. 8 of the students have won the awards in national college English competition, 10 have won the provincial scientific research achievement prizes, etc.

Entry Requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
