School of Mechanical Engineering was established in October, 1998. The school has 120 teachers, including 41 professors, 22 associate professors, 12 doctoral supervisors, and 38 teachers with doctor degree. The Mechanical Engineering is a key subject under “211 National Projects” and strong characteristic subject of Hebei province, and the Machine Manufacturing and Automation, Machine Manufacturing and Electronics Engineering are key subjects of Hebei province. The school has 2 doctor’s degree programs for Machine manufacturing and Automation, Mechanical Design and Theory; 7 master’s degree programs for Engineering Mechanics, Machine Manufacturing and Automation, Machine Manufacturing and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Design and Theory, Vehicle Engineering, Precision Apparatus and Machinery, Testing Technology and Apparatus.
The school also has 1 master’s degree program of engineering, post-doctorate research station, 4 undergraduate programs, 3 first level discipline subjects and the cultivation center for mechanical design for probational engineers of Hebei province, the key laboratory of Hebei province and the technological center for mechanotronics of Hebei province are set up in School of Mechanical Engineering and Technology. Besides a passel of national programs, the school has shouldered 62 provincial programs, and the research funds have reached to more than 30,000,000 Yuan in recent three years.
