Tour schedule:
Hotel/apartment pick-up at 7:00 pm by our guide. Then take a taxi to the old railway station where sited right in front of Tiananmen Square. The old railway station was built in 1900 and converted into a complex with shopping, restaurant and internet café nowadays.
Old railway station is the starting point of this 6 kilometer-long walking tour. Then along the sidewalk of the Tiananmen Square to Imperial City, and to the east Palace Gate called Donghuamen Gate, and along the moat (Forbidden City) to the front gate of the Forbidden City called Meridian Gate and cross over the imperial city to the west side of the moat, then walking along the moat to the corner of the Forbidden City, where you will see a beautiful tower called watch tower, then take a short break and enjoy taking photos of this magnificent building.
Later on, continue walking along the moat to the western part of Jingshan Park and then to the Dianmen street (northern part of the city axis), walking along Dianmen street to the Bridge called Wanning Bridge – originally build in Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), then continue walking to the terminal at Drum Tower and Bell Tower – both of these two towers were used to mark the times in the ancient times. Taking photos of the tower and nearby Hutongs, then take a taxi to transfer back to your hotel.
Arrive at your hotel approximately by 11:00 pm. Service ends!
