Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Beijing to Urumqi
Hotel/apartment pick-up in the morning around 5:45 am or 6:00am by our guide & vehicle with driver. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Urumqi (about 4 hours flight). Our guide will help you with the check-in process; she/he will not leave until they see you off to the security check.
Upon arrival at Urumqi airport, you will be met by our local guide (She/he will hold a sign with your name on it in the terminal lobby) & driver. Enjoy a traditional lunch first, and then visit the Red Hill Park and Xinjiang Museum. You will check into your hotel afterwards. A local dinner will be arranged at 8:00pm.
Note: There are no time zone differences in China therefore the whole country follows Beijing standard time, but geographically speaking, the Xinjiang area is about 2 hours later than Beijing time, because of this their daily activities take place a bit later. This is why dinner is arranged at 8:00 pm.

Day 2. Urumqi to Beijing
Hotel check-out & pick-up after having breakfast then begin our unforgettable full day tour to the Heavenly Lake. At 1,900 meters/5,900 feet above sea level, the lake is surrounded by mountains and formed by melted snow.
After visiting the lake, you will be transferred back to the airport in the late afternoon to catch your flight to Beijing.
Upon arrival in Beijing, you will be met by our guide (She/he will hold a sign with your name on it at the terminal lobby) & driver again, and provide transportation for you back to your hotel/apartment where the lovely tour ends!

Tips for tour guide and driver
Notes:
A. Breakfast in the hotel is served from 7am- 9am. The train arrives at Taishan around 6am, so there may be a slight wait before the hotel breakfast is available.
B. Overnight trains: The train attendant will wake you up around a half an hour before arriving at the destination-Taishan Railway Station. Do not worry about missing the station.
C. About D32: The seats on multiple unit train are adjustable (fore or aft) and comfortable. There is also a dining car on the train.
D. Train travel gets crowded on Chinese national holidays. If your travel dates include these holidays, please be patient.
E. Only Chinese meals are planned for your lunch. If you prefer other food, please let the tour guide know.
F. The Chinese people are very welcoming. Some Chinese travelers may show hospitality and even invite you for a group photo.
G. If your train which leaves from Beijing is cancelled or delayed to a certain degree due to bad weather, mechanical problems, government act, strike, etc. We'll refund ALL your money or if you would like, we may switch the tour to another day with no extra cost.
H. It takes about 3-5 hours to hike from Zhongtianmen to the top. You need to be in shape and physically fit to make the trip. We recommend you take the cable car up if you have any doubts about your abilities. When you go down the mountain you can either walk or take the cable car. Walking down takes about 1.5 hours without rest.
