The School of Electrical and Information Engineering is regarded as one of the four oldest majors in Jiangsu University. It began to establish majors and enroll students in 1960. At present, it covers over 150 staff with 120 full-time teachers, including 20 full professors and 30 associate professors. It has an enrollment of over 2100 students with 400 graduates and 1700 undergraduates.

 

School of Electrical and Information Engineering offers three PhD Programs, namely Agricultural Electrification and Automation, Power Electronics and Power Drive, and Control Theory and Control Engineering. The School also offers nine master’s degree programs: Agricultural Electrification and Automation, Control Theory and Control Engineering, Power Electronics and Power Drives, Electric Machines and Electric Apparatus, High Voltage and Insulation Technology, Power System and Automation, Electrical Theory and New Technology, Detection Technology and Automatic Device, and Signal and Information Processing.

 

At present, it is composed of the following departments or organizations: Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Automation, Department of Electronic Information Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Teaching Section and a laboratory open to the whole university. There are sixteen professors and thirty associate professors who, together with other faculty members, have formed a high-level team that does research on intelligent electrical apparatus and equipments, application of computer on industry, intelligent control and applications, power of motion controlling transformation technology and application, intelligent control of special motors, intelligent detection and computer control of complex process, transformation and control of electric powers, bearing less motor, magnetic bearings, robot control technology, agriculture bio-environmental control technology, agricultural machinery control technology, and so on. The synthetic automation of rural power transmission and distribution, signal testing and processing, and establishes a solid foundation for the graduate and undergraduate students.

 

On the base of large field and interdisciplinary, the School attaches great importance on cultivating newly comprehensive talents which are exactly needed at home and abroad. What’s more, it pays attention to establish wide relationships with domestic and international contemporaries in academic exchange.

Doctoral students: 3-5 years

 

For international students, the deadline for admission is August 15 every year. The final decisions of admission are made upon application materials, examination record and health examination record. The Admission Letter will be sent out by the International Education Exchange College before August 15.

 

For Bachelor’s degree: Be in good health condition, have senior high school diploma and good academic record, have basic Chinese language ability for non-English courses, have good moral character, applicants who apply for Bachelor programs conducted in English should have certain English proficiency.

                                           

For Master’s degree: Be in good health condition, have college graduation diploma and good academic record, have basic Chinese language ability for non-English courses, have good moral character, applicants who apply for bachelor programs conducted in English should have certain English proficiency.

 

For Doctoral degree:Be in good health condition, have Master’s degree and good academic record, have basic Chinese language ability for non-English courses, have good moral character, applicants who apply for bachelor programs conducted in English should have certain English proficiency.
