The School of Economics of Lanzhou University has strong teaching and research strength and modern teaching means. It has cultivated a considerable number of students meeting the needs of Socialist Market Economy. They are characteristic of innovative spirit, solid economic theory, masterly computer science and technology, high foreign language levels and high practicing ability. Most of them are appropriate to engage in the fields of Finance, Public Finance, International Trade, teaching and scientific research and so on.
Currently, the School covers 3 programs for Bachelor’s degree including Economics, International Economics & Trade, and Statistics. Politic Economics, History of Economics, Regional Economics, Quantity Economics, Larithmics, Resources & Environment Economy, and Finance are Master’s programs. Regional Economics is a Doctoral program and the national key disciplines. Practical Economics is regarded as mobile post-doctoral stations. The School is also regarded as bases for economic talents cultivation and scientific research.
The School attaches great importance to the students’ foreign language levels, computer abilities, abilities of applied writing of economics and other practicing abilities of Economics. What’s more, it regularly sends a number of students and teachers abroad to make academic exchange with international universities, institutes and other enterprises, while a lot of international scholars and professors are invited to teach or speech in the school. The School is active in developing international education exchange and cooperation through the international exchange of post-graduate students, visiting scholars and scientific research cooperation with universities and organizations in more than 30 foreign countries and regions including USA, Japan, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Canada, Russia, Hongkong and many others.

Application time
For Bachelor’s degree, the duration for application is from March1 to June 30. The academic year begins on September 1.
For Master’s degree and Doctoral degree, the duration for application is from March to July.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma, be or above the age of 18, academic records, and HSK3 certificate or above.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, in good health and HSK3 certificate or above.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, in good health and HSK3 certificate or above.
