College of Electromechanical Engineering offers three undergraduate programs: Automation, Mechanical Design & Manufacture and Automation, Electric Engineering and Automation and six Master’s degree programs: Electromechanical, Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, Mechanical Design and Theory, Testing Techniques and Automatic Equipment, Power Electronics & Electric Driving, Control Theory and Control Engineering to 1,800 full-time students. The college has a strong and well-balanced teaching force, over 90% of which hold Master’s degrees and 25% hold doctoral degrees. Of the teachers-in-charge 63% hold senior academic titles.
The College has the following teaching departments and laboratories: Department of Automation, Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Experiment Center of Automation, and Experiment Center of Electromechanical Engineering (Numerical Control Center), of which Department of Electromechanical Engineering is a key teaching department built by Beijing Municipality, Experiment Center of Automation and Laboratory of Field Bus Technology are key labs of Beijing Municipality, and the lab of the Numerical Control Center of the Experiment Center of Electromechanical Engineering is a base of practice of Beijing. The College keeps on obtaining good achievements in its teaching and research work. The project of education reform of graduation projects carried out by it teaching staff has won the first-class prize of Beijing Municipal Education Reform; its projects of application of CAD & CAM technology in the technological process of cold rolling and cold pressing, application of fuzzy control technology in industrial process control, online detection of production process and the Field Bus Control Technology and others have had a significant influence and reputation in the country.
