Established in 1997, College of Wood Science and Technology, Nanjing Forestry University consists of 7 departments of wood science and engineering, compound materials of biomass, packing materials and engineering, wood-structure architectural engineering, industrial equipment and automation, heat energy and power engineering and environmental chemical engineering. There are 6 undergraduate programs of Wood Science and Engineering--- Art design, heat energy and power engineering, industrial design, packing engineering and environmental engineering. Besides, there are 3 master degree programs and 3 doctorate programs of Wood Science and Technology--- Furniture design, manufacturing, mechanical design and theory (woodworking machinery). This college also possesses the key open laboratory of Wood Processing and Wood-based Panels technology.
The college has 95 teaching and administrative staff members, including 1 member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 16 professors, 32 associate professors, 11 supervisors for doctoral students and 36 teachers with the doctoral degree. At present, there are up to 2,000 undergraduate students and over 150 postgraduate and doctoral students. More than 10,000 students have graduated from the college over the past five decades. Most of these graduates have been playing a leading role and have become leading figures in technology in many fields of forestry in China.
In recent years, the College has undertaken many scientific research projects, over 40 achievements have been obtained, producing great benefits for the country’s economy and society. Meanwhile, the college takes an active role in developing academic exchanges and has established intercollegiate ties with many universities and institutions of more than 5 countries and regions, including the UK, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, etc. And it holds an international symposium every two or three years.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
For Doctoral degree:Applicants must be in good physical condition and under 45 of age in principle, holding a non-China passport and a Master’s degree, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, academic records.
