With a long history which can be traced back to the establishment of NUAA, it has gone through a long process of development, which has made it become one of the best colleges in the university.
Currently, College of Information Science and Technology (CIST) includes Department of Electronic Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Department of Electronic Engineering offers one Doctoral Program in Communication and Information System. It provides four Master Programs, including Communication and Information System, Signal and Information Processing, Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, Circuits and Systems. The focus of their study is in the fields of information retrieving and processing, digital communication, electromagnetic radiation and scattering, remote control and remote testing, audio-visual information processing, digital system design and automatic testing techniques.
In the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, there are two Master Programs and one Doctoral Program. The focus of the study of computer applied technology is in the fields of artificial intelligence, visual information processing and pattern recognition, database, software engineering, computer network, neural-network computation, information security, computer simulation, CIMS, data exploration, data bank, CAD/CAM and multi-computer system.
The college has about 3156 students in total. Among them 2220 are undergraduates, 855 are postgraduates. And it also has two researchers for the post-doctoral station. After more than 50 years’ development, it has fostered more than 11000 graduates, who has made great contribution to the research in the field of information and computer.
The College puts great emphasis on international exchange. It has maintained close relationship with many prestige universities from all over the world, such as universities in Britain and France. The contact and cooperation in various forms have greatly improved the academic levels of it.

For Bachelor Degree Students:
The application dates are from March 15th to August 30th.
For Master and Doctoral Degree Students:
The application dates for the spring semester are from September 15th to December 31 of the year prior to enrollment, and for the fall semester, from March 1 to August 10 of the year of enrollment.
Entry requirements
1) Bachelor Degree
Under the age of 25, a high school graduate or with equivalent qualification, able to take courses in Chinese (passing HSK Level 4), or to major in either Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering taught in English medium.
(2) Master Degree
Under the age of 40, a B.S. degree or equivalent qualification, able to take courses in English or in Chinese (reaching the HSK Level 4), two letters of recommendation from persons of at least associate professor status.
(3) Doctoral Degree
Under the age of 45, a M.S. degree or equivalent qualification, able to take courses in English or in Chinese (reaching the HSK Level 4), two letters of recommendation from persons of at least associate professor status.
