The School of Law & Politics of Ocean University of China is the key development organization of liberal art of Ocean University of China. The school contains three subjects in Law, Politics and Sociology, and includes departments of Law, Politics and Administration, Public Administration and maritime law Research Institution, the Literature of maritime law Center, Newsroom, the Ocean & Society Development Research Institution, and the sustainable development & Environmental and Resources Law Research Institution, International Issues Research Institution etc. There are many institutions for teaching, researching and legal service, such as Shandong judicial Identification of Maritime Affairs Center, Qingdao Wan Fang judicial Identification Institution. The school possesses a team of excellent teachers composed of master and doctor degrees from famous universities.
The school offers a Doctoral Degree in Environmental & Resources Protection Law, and nine Master’s Degrees in International Law, Economic Law, Constitutional & Administrative Law, Environmental & Resources Law, administrative management, Politics, International Politics, Sociology, and MPA etc.
In recent years, the school has published over 20 academic works in the field of Law and near 300 theses, undertaken more than 30 national and provincial issues, and has obtained 6 provincial awards and 3 liberal arts and social sciences awards of higher education. In the field of Politics and Administration, International Politics and Sociology, it has published over 10 academic works and near 80 theses, undertaken more than 10 national and provincial projects, and has obtained 3 provincial awards, and 3 liberal arts and social sciences awards of higher education.
Paying equal attention to theory and application, combining emphases and integrated development, the idea of basing on Chinese reality and facing the world are the guiding ideology of the college. Based on the faithful execution of teaching rules and regulations, it emphasizes the foreign language teaching, and pays attention to the international law teaching. The school has successively established the academic relationship with universities and the scientific research unit with England, France, US, Canada, Australia, Spain, Japan, South Korea and regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and so on. Interiorly, it has set up close relationship with National Bureau of Oceanography, provincial, city and local governments and politics and law system of Qingdao area and around. What’s more, the college has undertaken a large number of research subjects and the work of training talents. Large quantities of talents in law and liberal arts and social sciences have been trained for development of local economy.
