The College of Resources and Environment, whose predecessor is the Department of Agricultural Chemistry established in 1948, is one of the earliest-established departments in Shandong Agricultural University. In order to adapt to the development of the resources and environmental science and the demand of social economy, the department was reconstructed to be a college in October, 1994 and named the College of Resources and Environment. In the department course of more than 50 years, the staff of the college made every effort in discipline construction. Now the running lever of the college is obvious to all and the quality of talents has been highly valued by society.
The College of Resources and Environment has 6 departments, namely Department of Soil and Water, Department of Plant Nutrition, Department of Land Resources Management, Department of Technology of Resource Information, Department of Environmental Science and Department of Practaculture Science; 2 research centers, namely Research Center of Agricultural Resources and Environment and Research Center of Technology of Resource Information. The college has a center for post-doctoral studies, a provincial key lab, a Ph.D Program of first-class disciplines, 2 Ph.D Programs of second-class disciplines, 6 mater programs and 5 bachelor programs. There are 66 faculty, more than 1,200 undergraduates and more than 200 graduates. The College of Resources and Environment is an associate college integrating multi-branches of learning and subjects and multi-levers of talent training system.
The College of Resources and Environment has a teaching practice park and a science and technology demonstration park, with total area of more than 6,400㎡, and over 10 outdoors practice bases. Advanced instrument and equipment such as the flow injection analyzer, the gas chromatograph, the liquid chromatograph, the engineering scanner, the ink-jet plotter, the GIS software, GPS are all available here.
