The School of Law at Shandong University plays an important role in the history of Shandong University. Its history can be traced back to the early 1980s. Its precursor was the Department of Law which was established in 1983. The number of jurists including Qiao Wei, representatives of law, were dedicated and craved to the establishment and development of the School. And it was developed itself into the School of Law in March, 1994.
In the past 20 years, the School has made great achievements in scientific research, disciplines construction, talents cultivation and international cooperation & exchange and so on. At present, it covers a number of 80 faculty members, among whom there are 60 full-time teachers including 21 professors. And a great number of domestic and international scholars and successful people are invited to teach in the school. It owns first-level disciplines for authorizing Master’s degree, and 3 for authorizing Doctoral degree including Legal Theory, Constitutional & Administrative Law, and Civil & Commercial Law, and one mobile doctoral station of Law.
Currently, it is home to over 2000 students, including 1350 graduate students, 780 undergraduate students and a great number of international students. It aims to train the students’ theoretical and practical abilities through academic research, professional practice and a lot of activities. Most of them have played an active role in domestic and international academic fields, education, and administrative management and other related occupations. They have brought the school high reputation and great pride.
The School puts great emphasize on research and teaching. It maintains close cooperation not only with the domestic first-class legal institutions and research institutions, judicial departments at all levels and the scientific research cooperation, but also with several dozens of foreign countries and regions including the United States, European Union, Japan and Hong Kong, Taiwan and so on.

Undergraduate students: 4years
Postgraduate students: 2-3 years
Doctoral students: 3 years
Application time
For Degree applicants, the deadline for application is June 30 for autumn semester, December 30 for spring semester. Degree students shall arrive before August 31st for fall semester and before February 8th for spring semester.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma, academic records, health certificate and a copy of HSK certificate.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, academic records, application Essay (800 words or so in Chinese, regarding major of application and desired direction of study), health certificate and a copy HSK certificate.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree, academic records, recommended by two associate professors or above, application Essay (800 words or so in Chinese, regarding major of application and desired direction of study), health certificate and a copy of HSK certificate.
