Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1980. It offers 3 undergraduate and postgraduate programs--- acupuncture and moxibustion and Tuina of Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (bone fracture), traditional Chinese medicine (convalescence medicine). This department consists of basic teaching and research section, clinical teaching and research section, experimental teaching and research section and level-3 laboratory of state administration of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2006, the experimental teaching center of acupuncture and moxibustion has been chosen as the national experimental teaching demonstration center.
Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion has strong teaching force. Currently, over 30 teachers are holders of senior technical titles and over 50 are holders of associate senior technical titles. And they can teach the overseas students in foreign languages directly. The scientific research ability of this department is also strong. Till now, it has undertaken over 30 state-level scientific research projects and over 50 municipality-level projects. The acupuncture and moxibustion and Tuina of Chinese medicine has the right to confer doctoral degree. Over the past 20 years, this department has cultivated lots of talents for the country.
Through over 20 years’ development and perfection, the acupuncture and moxibustion and Tuina of Chinese medicine has already been the key discipline of the Ministry of Education of the State. This department now has strong strength, high teaching and scientific research level.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
For Doctoral degree:Applicants must be in good physical condition and under 45 of age in principle, holding a non-China passport and a Master’s degree, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, academic records.
