School of Chemical Engineering & Technology of Tianjin University was formed by the incorporation of many eminent chemical departments of other universities in 1952.
Through 50 years of development, School of Chemical Engineering & Technology has established a complete breeding system of undergraduates, postgraduates, doctors and post doctors. It has been consecutively brought into “The 9th 5”, "The 10th 5”, 211 and 985 Project. For the past 3 years, School of Chemical Engineering & Technology of Tianjin University had issued countless papers and thesises, as many as 894 papers had been compiled into the EI and 920 had been compiled into SCI. It also had applied 125 patents. Since the 10th 5 years project, School of Chemical Engineering & Technology of Tianjin University had won more than 40 national and provincial awards.
It now owns a staff consisting of 144 professors and associate professors, 144 master advisors and 68 doctor advisors. Among them, there are 6 Yangtze scholars, 5 winners of the National Prominent Fund, 5 nominees of the Millions of Talents Project, 6 nominees of the Century’s Talents Activity.
At present, nearly 400 doctorial students as well as 897 graduate students, 527 engineering postgraduates and 36 post doctors are studying in the School of Chemical Engineering & Technology.
It has 3 state-level subjects: chemical engineering, biological engineering industrial catalyzing and one post doctor station. The total 5 doctorial points in the rank-1 subjects of engineering and technology are included in its courses. Aside from these, it also has 9 postgraduate subjects: chemical engineering, chemical technology, industrial catalyzing, chemical engineering process machine, nuclear fuel cycling, biochemical engineering and so on.
