School of Medicine of Tsinghua University was founded on October, 2001. The first president is the famous medical scientist Professor Wu jieping. Currently, there are over 500 students including more than 150 undergraduate students and 100 postgraduate students. The school hires many outstanding and famous professors to improve the quality of teaching. Now, there are 22 experts being guest professor or assistant in this school.
The Medical School offers seven Master’s programs including Biophysics, Neurobiology, Developmental Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Immune Pharmacology, Drug Pharmacology, Chinese Pharmacology and five doctoral programs (Biophysics, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, Biochemistry & Epigenetic, Structural Biology, and Neurosurgery).

The college not only focuses on the teaching but also attaches great importance to research, and now the research fields extend to Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmaceutics, Biologic Pharmaceutics, Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutics, etc. It had undertaken many national and provincial projects in academic researches, published over 7 monographs, achieved more than 15 scientific results, and a lot of provincial Scientific & Technological Advance Awards, and gained 10 medicine patents.
