School of Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy, Wuhan Institute of Technology was founded with the merger of department of chemical engineering and department of pharmacy in 2003. It is one of the earliest, largest and most powerful colleges in Wuhan Institute of Technology. Currently, there are 175 teaching and administrative staffs at this school, among whom, 148 are full-time teachers. This school consists of school office, students’ administration office, teaching management section, 6 departments (chemical technology, chemical engineering, applied chemistry, pharmaceutical engineering, biological engineering and basic chemistry) and one experimental center.
Currently, School of Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy has 6 undergraduate programs--- chemical engineering and technology, applied chemistry, pharmaceutical engineering, pharmaceutical preparation, biological engineering and biological technology. Besides, it offers 6 postgraduate programs--- chemical engineering, chemical technology, biochemical engineering, applied chemistry, industrial catalysis and inorganic chemistry. In addition, it has 3 doctoral programs--- chemical engineering and technology, chemical engineering, and chemical technology. There are now 2,562 undergraduate students, 259 master students and 5 doctors at this school.
Since 2003, School of Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy has undertaken 14 projects financed by the state natural sciences fund, one 10th five-year key project, 9 projects financed by Hubei natural sciences fund and other 9 provincial and ministerial level projects. The annual research funding amounts to 7 million yuan. Besides, the teachers of this school have published over 600 theses, of which, 32 have gained patents, one has won the state technical invention award, etc.
School of Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy has advantage on the personnel training. The graduates have wide range of knowledge, solid basic knowledge and good manipulative ability. They are very popular with employing unit. Lots of students have won awards in all kinds of contests. Tens of thousands of graduates have become the backbone of the chemical science and technology of China. Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
For Doctoral degree:Applicants must be in good physical condition and under 45 of age in principle, holding a non-China passport and a Master’s degree, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, academic records.
