Currently, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Wuyi University offers two undergraduate programs--- the Chinese language and literature, the teacher education in Chinese language and literature. Besides, it offers one junior college students’ program--- the Chinese-English secretarial science.
At present, there are 19 teaching and administrative staffs at this department. Of the 17 full-time teachers, 1 is doctor and 8 are masters. Among the teachers, 2 are professors, 9 are associate professors, 3 are lecturers and 3 are teaching assistants.
The whole department has 5 teaching and research sections: teaching and research section of language (with 2 teachers), teaching and research section of literary theory (with 3 teachers), teaching and research section of modern and contemporary Chinese literature (with 5 teachers), teaching and research section of ancient literature (with 4 teachers), teaching and research section of composition (with 3 teachers).
In recent years, the teachers of the Department of Chinese Language have undertaken lots of scientific research projects. Currently, several projects are being studied: Lixu is studying the literary criticism, Zhang Jiguang is studying the theory and criticism of classical Chinese literature, Zhutao is studying adult education, etc.

Entry requirements
For Vocational degree and Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
