The School of Mechatronic Engineering was established in April, 2001, merging the School of Electromechanical Engineering of Wuhan University of Industry and the School of Electromechanical Engineering of Wuhan University of Automotive Industry. The main course of Mechanical Engineering was one of the 3 superiors in WHUT.
At present, it covers one authorized doctoral station of Mechanical Engineering, 4 authorized doctoral degree stations, 5 master’s degree stations and 5 courses for Bachelor’s degree. Moreover, it owns 57 doctoral students, 312 master students and 2781 undergraduate students. There are 5 courses or schools, 3 departments, one key laboratory center, 6 offices, one branch library and one archive. And it is also the key scientific research base which is closely related to Digital Manufacturing & Engineering of Hubei.
What’s more, it owns a group of work talents with the number of 194, including 163 teachers, 38 professors, 76 associate professors and 14 doctoral supervisors. They are capable of doing scientific research, practicing experience with the reasonable structure of faculties. It has extensively established academic links with more than sixty external universities and institutions. It has engaged more than one hundred famous foreign scholars as Concurrent or Honorary Professor for the university, and often receives experts, scholars and professors from other countries or regions to teach or do research. The School also sends abroad a number of teachers, professors, and scholars to study and to attend international academic conferences each year.

For international students, the deadline of application is June 30.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: The applicant should have the academic background equivalent to a graduate from senior high school, be healthy, under the age of 25, and receive a satisfactory score in the entrance examinations held by WHUT.
For Master’s degree:The applicant should have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent level of education, be healthy and under the age of 45. Those who have graduated from a University with a good record will be admitted upon recommendations.
For doctoral degree: The applicant should have a Master's degree or hold an equivalent level of education, be healthy, under the age of 45 and should pass the entrance examinations given by a Ph. D supervisor.
