On 11, September to 13, Doc. Michael Maves, Vice excutive president of the World Health Foundation and Miss Qie Geng, General Director of China GengQian lady visited to the University , studied cooperation project progress and result and dicuss further enlarge cooperation in Medical and Nursing Fileds.
Michael Maves and the parties visited simulation laboratory, research center,Clinical Department of Central South Hospital and so on others which has put into operating, and had panel discussion with teachers and students’ representatives. He highly affirmed the cooperation result and indicated that, under the president Marsha’s leading, College of Nursing Science had become China’s best nursing college, students cultivated by the college like a seed speading to China nursing institutions and hospitals, training China’s future excellent nursing students. He also pointed out that Medical education reform of Wuhan University medical deparment should make a certain achievement with joint efferts of World Health Foundation, American Chicago University and Wuhan University
HOPE Nursing College was jointly established by the World Health Foundation and Wuhan University in 2002. One year before the establishment, the Foundation signed cooperation agreement with WHU and set up an office in Wuhan, started the cooperatioin in Oral preventive, AIDS preventive, medicine education reform Fileds etc. In 2007, the two universities renewed a 5 years’ cooperation agreement. This October, the Foundation’s CEO led a delegation to visit WHU, signed the third 5 years’ cooperation agreement aimed at broadening the scope of cooperation.
It is said that The World Health Founddation together with WHU have successfully applied three times The United States agency for international development (USAID) overseas schools and hospitals (ASHA) projects for HOPE Nursing College Buliding. At present, the first two prejects have been finished and put into operation, thousands of students and teachers benefit from it. Through the projects, College hardware equipment greatly ascend, making communicate with foreign experts in time and resources sharing into reality
