On the morning of 15th July, Scottish university of Glasgow vice president Neal Juster visited Xian Jiaotong University,vice presient Guangqu Cheng interviewed the guest in room 107 of science museum. President of Shool of Science Fuli Li, president of School of Low Wenhua Shan, section chief of International Cooperation and Exchange Li Liang and some student representatives of School of Science attended the interview. Both sides reached an agreement on the plan of two universities’ students exchange and communication, and signed “Agreement of Xian Jiaotong University and Scottish university of Glasgow united to train best Physical student” and “Xi 'an jiaotong university and Glasgow university juris master international joint training agreement”
Vice president Guangqu Cheng welcomed Juster’s arrival on behalf of Xian Jiaotong Universtiy, and introduced campus distribution, research strength, and profession advantage of Xian Jiaotong University. He said that the writterof “The Wealth of Nations” Adam Smith was graduated from University of Glasgow, while Jiaotong University is the first one who translated “The Wealth of Nations” in to Chinese, the two schools is deep origin. President Juster indicated that he was very happy to come to the famous Xian Jiaotong University. He said that Xian Jiaotong University was a very good, and excellent in maths, physics etc. and he was looking forward to deeper cooperation.
After the agreement was signed, President Juster introduced gave a brief introduction of city Scotland and University of Glasgow’s history and culture, Outstanding alumnis, organizational structure, advantage disciplines, development plan etc. to the students present, and answered students’ questions about characteristic of cooperative project, University of Glasgow’s advantage disciplines, etc.
