The College of Animal Science and Technology was founded in January, 1995. Its predecessor was department of animal husbandry, agricultural institute of Yunnan University, which was founded in 1950. Till now, it has over 50 years’ history.
The College of Animal Science and Technology has a key animal nutrition and feeds lab of Yunnan Province, two provincial level key disciplines, two university-level key disciplines and one provincial level core course. Besides, it has 5 postgraduate programs- animal genetics and breeding, animal nutrition, preventive veterinary medicine, grass cultivation science and basic veterinary medicine. And it has the departments of animal science, animal medicine, animal nutrition and grass cultivation science, animal basic science. It also has four joint-stock companies. Now, this college has become the teaching base and scientific research center for cultivating high-level specialists of animal science and veterinary medicine in Yunnan Province.

Master’s program: 2.5-3 years
Doctoral program: 3 years
Application Time
For international students, the academic year begins in September. The duration for application is from March 1st to June 30th.
Entry Requirements
Undergraduates: Having the degree which equals to the senior high school degree of China; having passed the qualification examination and entrance examination.
Master candidates: Having the degree which equals to the bachelor’s degree of China; recommended by two associate professors or above; having passed the qualification examination and entrance examination.
Doctor candidates: Having the degree which equals to the master’s degree of China; recommended by two professors or above; having passed the qualification examination and entrance examination.
