The School of Life Science plays a balanced role in developing teaching and scientific research and takes the main education scope of Science. It has a strong and solid power for teaching and research. Although its history is not very long, it is full of vigor and vitality which will enjoy higher position in the near future.
Currently, the School covers a total number of 72 staff with 2 academicians, 14 full professors, and 9 associate professors. Among them, there are 11 doctoral supervisors and 18 master supervisors. About 90% of the youth teachers have reached Master’s degrees or above. Besides, it has invited 19 domestic and international famous scholars to work as shared, part-time and guest professors. The research laboratories have an area of 8000 square meters with advanced instruments and profound facilities. All these hardware facilities will provide good conditions for the teachers and the students.
The School embraces a considerable number of institutes and centers. In the past 3 years, abundant projects in various fields have been undertaken in the school and more than 271 academic papers have been published. It owns 45 authorized patens and 5 teaching materials and monographs. At present, it has an enrollment of 340 undergraduates and 277 graduates. They are well-trained integrating professional knowledge and strong practical ability and innovative ability.
The School attaches great importance to discipline construction, faculty structure renewing, talents training, as well as society services. It is active in developing itself into a provincial first-level and world famous school. What’s more, it also puts great emphasize on academic exchange and constantly establishes wide relationship and cooperation with a lot of universities form home and abroad.
