College of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1953, is the oldest and one of the largest colleges. College with advanced manufacturing technology and equipment machinery and electronics engineering, chemical process machinery, vehicle engineering, thermal engineering, materials engineering, solid mechanics, industrial engineering, measurement and control technology and equipment, etc.
There are 9 disciplines (Research Institute) and mechanical engineering and automation, process equipment and control engineering, vehicle engineering and measurement and control technology, industrial engineering and management of four lines, advanced manufacturing technology and equipment, machinery and electronics engineering in Zhejiang Province, re - heavy disciplines, chemical process machinery for key disciplines in Zhejiang Province.
In addition, there is a mechanical engineering post-doctoral research center proficient in machine building and automation, machinery and electronics engineering. What’s more the college has the right to guarantee a master's degree in two disciplines with mechanical engineering and automation, process equipment and control engineering, vehicle engineering, industrial engineering, logistics engineering, measurement and control technology and equipment.
The existing staffs of the college are 200, among them 20 doctoral tutors with high titles and 63 teachers have advanced qualification, the one who with a doctorate are more than 70 teachers.
