College of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Zhejiang University of Technology was founded in 1953. Its predecessor was the department of chemistry of Chemical Engineering College. Through over 50 years’ development, this college has gained fruitful achievements in discipline construction, personnel training, scientific research, social service, etc. And it has become a key base for the cultivation of high-level talents of chemical engineering and materials.
Currently, College of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science offers 1 doctoral program (chemical engineering), 12 postgraduate programs (chemical engineering, chemical technology, industrial catalysis, applied chemistry, materials science, materials physics and chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, pesticide science, chemical engineering, materials science) and 4 undergraduate programs (chemical engineering and technology, applied chemistry, materials science and engineering, marine technology).
There are now over 200 teaching and administrative staffs in this college, of whom, 50 are holders of senior professional titles, 73 are holders of associate senior professional titles, 81 are holders of doctoral degree, 21 are doctoral tutors, 87 are master’s tutors, etc.
At present, College of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science has over 1,650 undergraduate students, over 560 master degree candidates and over 50 doctoral candidates.
In recent 10 years, this college has won over 100 awards, including 10 state-level awards, 23 provincial and ministerial level progress prizes in science and technology, 1 outstanding teaching achievement award of the state education commission, etc. Besides, the teachers of this college have published over 30 academic monographs. Over 180 theses published by the teachers are embodied by SCI and EI annually. Currently, College of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science is undertaking over 40 state-level scientific research projects, including the projects financed by state natural sciences fund, state key elementary project (973), etc. It is also undertaking over 200 projects of other various types. In 2006, the total research funding amounted to 46 million yuan.
College of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science actively develops the external exchanges and cooperation. So far, it has established good cooperation and exchange relations with lots of famous universities from many countries, such as America, Britain, Germany, France, Belgium, Japan, etc.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
For Doctoral degree:Applicants must be in good physical condition and under 45 of age in principle, holding a non-China passport and a Master’s degree, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, academic records.
