The School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering has 7 undergraduate programs, 11 Master degree programs, 3 Engineering Master degree programs, 4 higher-education series Master degree programs, 6 Ph.D. programs, in which the Mechanical Engineering is a first level discipline with Ph.D. degree programs and a postdoctoral work station. There are 3 provincial key disciplines, 1 provincial key laboratory.
The School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering has 4 departments: Department of Mechanical Design Engineering, Department of Mechanical Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Department of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, and Department of Thermal Energy and Power Engineering. It has 10 more research centers/institutes: Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Design and Manufacturing of Anhui, CIMS Institute, Tribology Institute, Special Processing Institute, etc, and the Center Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering.
There are about 250 faculty and staff in the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering: 13 doctor advisors, 35 professors, and some 100 associate professors, of whom, 35 have Ph. D., and 30 are studying for their Ph.D. Up to now, about 600 graduates have obtained their Master degrees, and 20 have obtained their Ph.D.s. At present, the school has 4 post-Doctors, some 60 doctoral students, 287 master students, 150 engineering-master students, about 250 graduate-courses students, 3,280 undergraduates, and 550 adult-education students in school.

For international students, the academic year begins in September for the autumn semester and February for the spring semester. The duration for application is from April 1st to June 30th.
