College of Forest Resources and Environment, Nanjing Forestry University’s predecessor can be traced back to the department of forestry of the former University of Nanking and the department of forestry of the former Central University. Till now, it has a history of 13 years.
Currently, College of Forest Resources and Environment offers 8 undergraduate programs, such as urban planning, environmental science, biotechnology, ecology, bioscience, food science and engineering, horticulture. It also offers 13 master programs and doctoral programs, including ecology, botany, forest genetics and tree breeding, silviculture, forest protection, forest management, water and soil conservation and desertification control, ornamental plants and horticulture science. Besides, it offers other 2 doctoral programs of first-class discipline--- forestry, biology. In addition, this college has two mobile stations for post-doctors--- forestry, biology. College of Forest Resources and Environment has 6 departments and one comprehensive analysis center. This center can be divided into 17 laboratories, 4 research institutes, 5 research centers and one research room.
Currently, College of Forest Resources and Environment has 130 teaching and administrative staffs, of whom, 1 is academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 42 are professors (including 38 doctoral tutors), 27 are associate professors and most of the teachers are nationally well-known professors and scholars. In recent 10 years, this college has cultivated over 4,500 talents. Now, there are over 3,000 students at this college.
Now, College of Forest Resources and Environment is undertaking over 200 scientific research projects of various types at state-level, provincial and ministerial level. Since 1986, the students and teachers of this college have published over 1,200 theses in domestic and foreign magazines. Besides, they have formally published over 100 teaching materials, of which, 11 have won the state-level awards and 42 have won the awards at provincial and ministerial level.
This college attaches great importance to the international cooperation and exchanges. It has established personnel exchanges, scientific and technological cooperation relations with the universities and research institutes from lots of countries, such as America, Japan, Canada, Britain, Germany, Russia, Sweden, etc.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
For Doctoral degree:Applicants must be in good physical condition and under 45 of age in principle, holding a non-China passport and a Master’s degree, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, academic records.
