The School of Law of Southwestern University of Finance & Economics was found in October, 2001, with merging the Department of Law and the Institute of Population. The School was apart from the Institute of Population in May, 2007, and was merged into the Research Center of China Western Economics. It makes great progress since its establishment and develops fast in a highway step.
At present, the School enrolls students for Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and Doctoral degree. It covers a total number of 1288 students, including 707 full-time undergraduate students, 543 postgraduate students and 38 doctorial students. What’s more, it is authorized to explore 2 Doctoral programs, 6 Master’s programs including Civil & Commercial Law, Economics Law, and Criminal Law, International Law, Master of Law, Economics of Law, and one Bachelor’s program of Law which is regarded as the key bases of talents providing in Sichuan Province. The 2 Doctoral programs are Economics of Law, including Civil & Commercial Law, Economics Law, and Criminal Law, and Larithmics.
What’s more, the School covers a group of high-qualified faculties of 50 members. Among them there are 18 professors, 14 associate professors and 12 doctoral supervisors. The faculties who are under age f 50 have a percentage of 90 and the Doctoral degree have a percentage of 80. Besides, it has invited dozens of domestic and international famous experts of Law to work as full-time or part-time professors in the school. The School tremendously believes that scientific research can make it achieve more. It award a large number of medals in various field for the 20 years.

Application time
For Bachelor’s degree, the deadline for application is June 30. The academic year begins on September 1.
For Master’s degree & Doctoral degree, the deadline for application is December 31. Usually, the first semester is from Sep 1 to Jan. 15. The second is from February to July.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma, academic records, in good health and HSK4 certificate.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should Bachelor’s degree or above, recommended by two associate professors or above, academic records, in good health and HSK4 certificate.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree or above, academic records, recommended by two associate professors or above, in good health and HSK4 certificate.
