The predecessor of Business School was the earliest-founded system engineering department and system engineering research institute. In 1997, it merged with the management department of the former Shanghai Institute of Mechanical Technology and became a college with the most undergraduate students in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
Business School has a mobile station for post-doctors of management science and engineering. Besides, it has the right to confer the doctoral degrees of management science and engineering, management science, industrial engineering and management, systems engineering, information management and information system, engineering management, scientific and technological management, etc. And it has two self-designed doctoral programs at second-level approved by academic degrees committee of the state council. In addition, it has 4 master programs of first-level disciplines, such as management science and engineering, practical economics, etc. And it has 17 master programs of second-level disciplines, such as industrial economics, public economics, finance, international trade, regional economics, labor economics, statistics, quantitative economics, etc. It also has 3 engineering master programs--- industrial engineering, project management and logistics engineering. And it has MBA program. Business School also offers 11 undergraduate programs, including management science, information management and information system, industrial engineering, working management, business administration, marketing, electronic commerce, accounting, international economics and trade, system science and engineering, etc.
Business School has set up 4 departments and one center: management science and engineering department, industry and commerce and public administration department, applied economics department, system science and engineering department, MBA education center. Besides, it has seven research institutes like industrial engineering research institute, research institute of accounting, research institute of business administration, etc. It also has an experimental center of economic management.
Business School now has over 120 doctoral students, over 1,200 master students and over 3,400 undergraduate students. Meanwhile, there are 175 teaching and administrative staffs at this school, of which, 31 are professors, 46 are associate professors, 42 have doctoral degrees and 65 have master’s degrees.

For international students, the academic year begins in September. The duration for application is from March 1st to June 30th.

Undergraduates: senior high school graduate; HSK Band 6 or above; in good health.
Master candidates: Have a Bachelor’s degree or above; HSK Band 6 or above; in good health.
Doctor candidates: Have a Master’s degree or above, HSK Band 6 or above; in good health.
