Day by day itinerary
Day 1
Leave Chengdu for Lanzhou by plane. Visit the Yellow River and Mother Statue, ancient waterwheel and Baita Hill Park. In the evening, go to Jiuquan by train.
Day 2
Arrive at Jiuquan in the morning. Go to the cosmodrome and admire the huge launching tower, the museum and the apartment of astronauts.
Day 3
After breakfast, visit the City Wall Mansion of Jiayuguan and Great Wall. Go to Dunhuang in the afternoon and appreciate the beautiful scenery of Chilien Mountians. If lucky enough, travelers can admire the magic scene of Mirage.
Day 4
Visit the prestigious Mogao Grottos, the Mingsha Mountain and the Crescent Moon Spring. In the evening, go oto Turfan by train.
Day 5
Arrive at Turfan in the morning. Visit Karez, Gaochang Ancient Town, Grape Valley, Wanfo Palace and Mountains of Flames. In the evening, return to Urumqi. Along the journey travelers can admire the biggest wind power plant of Asia-----Dabancheng Power plant, as well as the beautiful landscape of salty lake.
Day 6
Go to Tianchi Lake in the morning and enjoy the beautiful sceneries there. Travelers can also admire the magnificent and holy snow mountain near the lake.
Day 7
Go to Nanshan Pasture and experience the unique customs of Kazak nationality. In the evening, visit the local big market------bazaar.
Day 8
Take free activities in the morning, and then return to Chengdu in the afternoon.
