Detailed itinerary
Day 1 Chongqing
The visitors will gather at Caiyunba Railway Station in Chongqing and then take Qinghai-Tibet train T222/3 at 7:20 pm. And then overnight on the train.
Day 2 Sichuan- Loess Plateau
On the train, appreciate the scenery of the Sichuan Basin, the charm of the Loess Plateau scenery.
Day 3 Hoh Xil- Lhasa
Train crosses from the Hoh Xil, tourists can enjoy the unique wildlife resources of Hoh Xil. If lucky, you also can see Tibetan antelope running under the train. In the evening, arrive in Lhasa and register in the hotel! You can rest in the hotel, in order to adapt to the plateau climate.
Day 4 Potala Palace- Jokhang Temple- Bakhor Street
In the morning, have a visit to the Dalai Lama's interests, China's most famous buildings, and the world cultural heritage - Potala Palace. In the afternoon, go to Tibetan Buddhist heart center pilgrimage and beliefs --Jokhang Temple. After that, lead to enjoy and buy Tibetan handicraft products at Bakhor Street- one of the most ancient streets in Tibet.
Day 5 Lahsa- Yangbajing
After breakfast, go to visit the world famous geothermal scenery- Yangbajing, which is the biggest and earliest geothermal scene. Then lead to play in the hot spring pools at the bottom of the snow mountain of 4200 meters which is now the only one in the world. After that, go back to Lhasa. It is about 100KM from Lhasa to Yangbajing with a 1.5 hour’s drive. You can also pay to Namtso (RMB230/person).
Day 6 Lhasa- Shigatse
Take pass Gangbala Mt. which is over than 5000m, then to Yamdrotso Lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet (another 2 is Namtso Lake and Manasarova). After enjoy the beautiful natural scenic view, and then arrive at Shigatse from the China-Nepal highway. Then overnight at Shigatse.
Day 7 Shigatse- Lhasa
In the morning, have a visit to TashiLumpo Monastery which was built in1447, spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas. Overlook the temple of hills and mountains around, attached building folding, and resplendent and magnificent. After that, lead to the world's largest indoor bronze –Jiangpa Buddha. After visiting Panchen Lamas, continue to enjoy free markets in Shigatse. Drive back to Lhasa from the China-Nepal highway in the afternoon.
Day 8 Lhasa- Manasarova Lake –Nyingchi
Along the way, enjoy the sightseeing of Yanghe valley with the genuine feeling of primeval forest, the clear water. Manasarova Lake is surrounded by mountains, mild climate, has average altitude of 4,000 meters. The lake area is 28 square kilometers, the depths of 60 meters. There is a small island in the lake concerning this temple was built in Tang Dynasty. Snowy peaks, glaciers, virgin forest sites are tightly around here which make the lake like a fairy tale (cruise self-care).
Day 9 Nyingchi- Lhasa
Go to the BaYiZhen city to enjoy the natural sightseeing, and then lead to enjoy the Cypress gigantean trees with 2,500 years history.
Day 10 Lhasa- Chongqing
After arrive at Chongqing Airport, you will be free.
