School of Resources and Environmental Science is one of the most important schools in East China Normal University which has a long history. The school owns a well-organized faculty group. There are 65 professors and 45 associate professors. Also, the school invites many Changjing Scholar to teach here. Currently, there are over 700 bachelor students and nearly 800 graduate students.
The school consists of 3 departments: Department of Geography, Department of Regional Science & Urban Economics and Department of Environmental Science. It confers 5 Bachelor’s programs, 15 Master’s programs and 9 Doctoral programs. Natural Geography and Ecology are the key subjects of Shanghai.
The school has achieved over 973 scientific research items since 1978, including over 100 national key problems to be tackled in science and technology items. The school also got over 100 national and provincial progress awards. There have been over 130 monographs and 3,000 research papers published since 1980s. In addition, it owns a well-equipped library in which there are 150,000 books in Chinese and English and over 400 academic journals.
The school always pays a lot of attention to cooperation with a number of universities in foreign countries and regions. Since its establishment, it has established long-term academic exchange and cooperation with the UNESCO, USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia and Singapore and other countries and regions.

Requirements for Admission
For the Bachelor students, they should prepare the application form, high school diploma and score transcript, health certificate and HSK 6 certificate.
The students applying for Master’s and Doctoral Degree must specially prepare 2 recommendation letters from associate professors or above.
