The College of Forestry, one of the colleges holding the longest history in Guangxi University, has developed from the Forestry Department of the College of Agriculture of Guangxi University which was founded in 1932.
The college has a well-organized team with 86 staff members, among whom there are 3 experts enjoying special allowance of the State Council, 4 professors, 22 associate professors, 4 research fellows, 2 associate research fellows, 1 senior engineer, 2 senior experimentalists, and 19 supervisors of master students. Among the 62 faculty members, 53.2% of the members have the titles of associate professors or above and 34 teachers, 54.8% of the members, have Doctoral or Master’s degrees. There are over 1014 regular full-time undergraduate students and another 79 postgraduates.
So far the College has 4 undergraduate majors, namely Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Ecology, and Wood Science & Engineering. It can also award master degrees in Ecology, Forest Reservation, Wood Science & Technology, and Garden Plant & Ornamental Horticulture.
In recent years, the College has made lots of teaching and research achievements at state and ministry level, such as “Studies of Forestry Ecosystem of Guangxi”, “Optimization Experiments on Management Technologies of Masson Pine Forests”, “Studies on Construction Technologies of 1.5-Generation Fir Seed Garden”, “Distillation Technique and Equipment of Fast Separation of the Cassia Oil”, “Study on Regular Patterns of the Hydrologic Eco-Function of Forest Ecosystem in China”, “Research and Practices on Comprehensive Reform of Forestry Major”, and so on.
During 70 years, the college has nurtured nearly 10000 high quality talents in forestry industry, accounting for nearly 80% of the high-level managerial and scientific talents in Guangxi forestry system. They are the mainstream of Guangxi’s forestry construction, and have made great contribution to the construction and development of Guangxi’s forestry.

Requirements for Admission
The students applying for Bachelor’s degree must be under 25 years old and they should prepare the high school diploma, application form, score transcript, HSK 3 certificate, health certificate and study in English or Chinese.
Students applying for Master’s degree must be under 35 years old and particularly hold two recommendation letters from associate professors or above.
