The school was set up in May 2000, combined with the former School of Architecture at Huazhong University of Science & Technology and the Department of Architectural Planning at Wuhan Institute of Urban Construction. There are over 200 faculty and staff members, of whom 18 are full professors and 42 are associate professors. The number of resident students is 1680. 233 of them are master candidates and PhD candidates.
The school is made up of three departments: Department of Architecture, Department of Urban Planning and Department of Art Design. The Department of Architecture is made up of the former Department of Architecture at Huazhong University of Science & Technology and the Architectural Major in Wuhan Institute of Urban Construction. It has a Research Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, a magazine Architecture and an affiliated company.
The school offers three Bachelor's degree programs: Art Designing, Urban Planning, and Architecture; five Master's degree programs: Architecture Design and Theory, Architecture History & Theory, Urban Planning and Design, Architecture Technology and Design Art. The PhD program is Architecture Design and Theory.
In the 20 years of school running, the school always insists on fitness, characteristic, and service for economic construction. It pays a lot of attention to students’ ability of practicing and creating. Since its establishment it has established cooperation relationship with oversea schools and academic groups. In recent 5 years, over 10 teachers have gave academic lectures in America, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Russian, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan etc.

Requirements for Admission
The applicants must hold the equivalent degree certificate. Moreover they should prepare the HSK certificate and other relevant documents and certificates.
