Tour Schedule:
Day 1: Beijing-Datong (Morning Flight)
Our English-speaking tour guide and private driver will pick you up from your hotel in Beijing, and then drive to Beijing airport to take a flight to Datong (1 hour). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel check in. First we will visit Yungang Grottoes. They are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient sculptural sites of China. The others are Longmen and Mogao. Then we continue to visit Huayan Temple, which is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties in China. After lunch, we will visit Shanhua Monastery and Nine Dragon Screen. The Nine Dragon Screen in Datong, built over 600 years ago, is presently the oldest and largest glazed screen in China today. Be transferred back to your hotel after visit.

Day 2: Datong-Wutaishan (Car Transfer)
Pick you up and transfer you to Wutaishan. On the way, pay a visit to the Hengshan Hanging Temple, the temple was built in 491 with a history of more than 1400 years, and hangs on the west cliff of Jinlong Gorge more than 50 meters above the ground, hence it is called Hanging Temple. Then continue visit the Wooden Pagoda in Yingxian Country. This is the oldest and tallest wooden pagoda in China, all materials are wooden and connected by 50 kinds of base-mat. After visit, we will drive to Wutaishan, one of China's most ancient Buddhist sites. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel to check in.

Day 3: Wutaishan
Whole day tour in Wutaishan Scenic Area with cable car. The area is also known for its purity, with clean air, that distinguishes it from the province's polluted cities of Datong and Taiyuan, clean streams, including the aptly named Clear Water River (Qingshui he), and a piety of Buddhist thought. Wutaishan is one of China's four sacred Buddhist Mountains (Si da fojiao mingshan), along with E'meishan, Jiuhuashan and Putuoshan.
You will have the opportunity to visit the must see temples such as Pusading, Xiantong Temple, Tayuan Temple, Longquan Temple and Southern Hill Temple.

Day 4: Wutaishan-Pingyao (Car Transfer)
After breakfast, transfer to Pingyao. It will take 6 hours driving takes you to the ancient Pingyao City, which was included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1997. On the way visit Qiao's Family Compound, a large number of traditional houses to discover the art of architecture in Qing Dynasty. Overnight at a local courtyard style hotel in the ancient Pingyao city.

Day 5: Pingyao-Beijing (Overnight Train)
Tour Pingyao with your guide for a whole day. Pingyao City was first built in the Western Zhou Dynasty (BC 827-BC 782) and the financial center in late Qing Dynasty, which is now regarded as the most complete preservation of integrity of the historic city of China, as well as the ancient city prototype. You will visit all the highlights of this ancient city including Rishengchang Draft Bank, Ancient City Wall and Ming and Qing Street, and Temple of the City God, etc.
After dinner, take the overnight train back to Beijing. (Train 1164, Dep 21:49pm – Arr next day 10:23 am, Soft sleeper, 4 people share one compartment). Overnight on the train.

Day 6: Arrive in Beijing
Your train arrives in Beijing at 10:23am. Our tour guide in Beijing will expect you in front of your train carriage and then take you to the car or van and transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. (Service Ends)
