Tour Schedule:
Day 1: Beijing-Datong (Morning Flight)
Our English-speaking tour guide and private driver will pick you up from your hotel in Beijing, and then drive to Beijing airport to take a flight to Datong (1 hour). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel check in. First we will visit Yungang Grottoes. They are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient sculptural sites of China. The others are Longmen and Mogao. Then we continue to visit Huayan Temple, which is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties in China. After lunch, we will visit Shanhua Monastery and Nine Dragon Screen. The Nine Dragon Screen in Datong, built over 600 years ago, is presently the oldest and largest glazed screen in China today. Be transferred back to your hotel after visit.

Day 2: Datong-Pingyao (Car Transfer)
Morning car transfer to visit the Hengshan Hanging Temple, the temple was built in 491 with a history of more than 1400 years, and hangs on the west cliff of Jinlong Gorge more than 50 meters above the ground, hence it is called Hanging Temple. Then continue drive to Pingyao. On the way to Pingyao, visit Qiao Family's Courtyard which is the model of old Chinese residential courtyard. Arrive in Pingyao and overnight at a local courtyard style hotel in the ancient Pingyao city.

Day 3: Pingyao-Xian (Overnight Train)
Tour Pingyao with your guide for a whole day. Pingyao City was first built in the Western Zhou Dynasty (BC 827 ~ BC 782) and the financial center in late Qing Dynasty, which is now regarded as the most complete preservation of integrity of the historic city of China, as well as the ancient city prototype. You will visit all the highlights of this ancient city including Rishengchang Draft Bank, Ancient City Wall and Ming and Qing Street, and Temple of the City God, etc.
After dinner, take the overnight train to Xian. (Train 1095, Dep 20:42pm-Arr next day 07:20am, Soft sleeper, 4 people share one compartment). Overnight on the train.
Hotel: On the soft-berth train (you will get the train ticket from your guide in Pingyao)
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Day 4: Xian
Upon arrival at the Xian train station, you will be met by our local guide (she/he will hold a sign with your name in front of your carriage on the platform inside the train station) and driver. After a simple breakfast at the local hotel, your tour in Xian starts. First you will visit the famous Terra-cotta Warriors and learn about their history and production, that’s also the main reason why you are here in Xian. Then followed by a traditional Chinese lunch. After lunch, you will continue the tour to Xian city to visit the Ancient City Wall, you can hire bicycles and cycle around city wall if you like.

Day 5: Xian-Beijing (Afternoon Flight)
Morning you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square. As the symbol of the old-line Xian, Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists, also attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion. It is rated as a National Key Cultural Relic Preserve as well as an AAAA Tourist Attraction. Then go on to visit Shaanxi History Museum and explore Muslim quarter and the Big Mosque (time permitting). In the late afternoon we will drive to Xian airport to catch your flight back to Beijing. Our Xian guide will help you with the check-in process; she/he will not leave until they see you off to the security check.
Upon arrival at Beijing airport, our guide and driver will meet you, and then transfer you to your hotel.
