Tour Schedule:
Day 1: Beijing-Datong by overnight train
Pick up from your hotel in Beijing and transferred to Beijing Train Station. Our tour guide will assist you in arranging your soft-sleeper on the train. The train leaves around 23:36pm and overnight on the train.

Day 2: Arrival at Datong in the early morning and Datong Day Tour
Arrive at Datong at 06:21am. Your tour guide will pick you up from Datong train station and take you to breakfast. Then you will be given time to take a shower and have a short rest (about 1.5-2 hours) in the guest room. First we will visit Yungang Grottoes. They are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient sculptural sites of China. The others are Longmen and Mogao. Then we continue to visit Huayan Temple, which is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties in China. After lunch, we will visit Shanhua Monastery and Nine Dragon Screen. The Nine Dragon Screen in Datong, built over 600 years ago, is presently the oldest and largest glazed screen in China today. Be transferred back to your hotel after visit.

Day 3: Datong One Excursion - by overnight train to Beijing
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel Datong in the morning. First transfer to visit the Hanging Temple, the temple was built in 491 with a history of more than 1400 years, and locates at the foot of Mt. Hengshan, 65 kilometers (40 miles) from downtown Datong City. The Temple hangs on the west cliff of Jinlong Gorge more than 50 meters above the ground, hence it is called Hanging Temple. The biggest attraction of Hanging Temple is the fact that the temple includes Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. After lunch, move on to Yingxian County to visit the Wooden Pagoda, this pagoda is the oldest and highest wooden structure in China and is regarded as the 'First Pagoda in the World' and a gem in the architectural field. It has now also been placed under national emphases under the Cultural Relics Protection Units. After dinner, transferred back to Datong Train Station. You will travel on the overnight train to Beijing. (Departure around 22:48)

Day 4: Arrive in Beijing
Early morning 05:10am, pick up by our guide & driver, and then be transferred to your hotel/apartment where the lovely tour ends!
