2.Transport, communications and banking
It takes about 7 minutes' bike from the campus to downtown. Students can also choose bus transport to go shopping and sightseeing. A monthly bus ticket costs approximately RMB 50. Route 81,69,55,61 and 15 bus stops are all at the university gates, which enables students to reach most parts of the city. A local call costs about RMB 0.22 per minute. A long distance call between cities costs RMB 0.3 or so per minute and for an international call the expense is approximately RMB 4.8 a minute. Postage for mailing an international letter is RMB 6.4. Students can walk to a post office or a bank within 5 minutes. Keeping a bankcard at hand is recommended for both convenience and safety.
4.Recreation and sports
In the university there are table-tennis room, tennis-court, basketball-playground, soccer-playground and gym. University Sports Event for staff and students is held every Spring. In normal times there are quite a few ballgames. Off the campus it takes five minutes' bike to Luoyang Swimming Pool and 15 minutes' walk to bowling hall.
