The school of software engineering (SSE) of South China University of Technology is one of the national-level demonstrative software schools approved by the State Ministry of Education in 2001. It offers the courses for Bachelor and Master of Software Engineer. Outstanding undergraduates will be offered successive postgraduate and doctoral programs of study.
Major Introduction
The educational emphases and areas of Software Engineering including: Embedded System, Robot, Intelligent Software, Digital Media, Financial Software and Mobile Computing. The training of undergraduates focuses on software design and analysis, software development, project management, software quality assurance, and so on.
Faculty
Now the school has all together 40 in-school teachers, including 7 professors, 8 associate professors, among which there are 33 teachers with doctorate. SSE also has 51 part-time teachers and 35 out-school specialists.
TEACHING AND LEARNING FACILITIES
The SSE has a training project of innovative software personnel supported by the ministry of education, which has a 2000M2 site. This site has set up some shared laboratories for many IT enterprises and as the student training base.
The SSE also has an 8400M2building, including an IBM mainframe center and six laboratories: Intelligent Software Lab, Embedded Software Lab, Information Service Software Lab, Digital Media and Arts Lab, Mobile Computing Lab, Financial Software Lab. There are many kinds of devices supporting the experiment courses, such as IBM-z900 mainframe, different types of server, router, switch, and so on.
