School of Economics and Law, Shanxi University of Technology was founded on the basis of the former department of politics and law, department of social sciences, the teaching and research room of ideology and moral character. And it was founded in January, 2006.
Till August, 2007, School of Economics and Law has 124 full-time teachers, among whom, 18 are professors, 35 are associate professors and 64 are lecturers. The reference room of this school has over 28,000 Chinese and foreign languages’ books and over 200 kinds of periodicals and magazines. Besides, this school has moot court, training room of human resource management, multifunctional multi-media classroom, etc.
Currently, School of Economics and Law provides 4 undergraduate programs--- economics, human resource management, ideological and political education, law. This school undertakes the public courses (Theory of Marxism, ideological and ethical education) of the whole university. Till the end of 2007, there are all together 1,182 students at this school. School of Economics and Law has 4 university-level key disciplines, 4 university-level key curriculums, etc. At present, nearly 20 curriculums adopt the multi-media teaching, 5 curriculums adopt the bilingual teaching, etc.
At present, the teachers of the School of Economics and Law are undertaking 3 state-level scientific research projects, 12 provincial and ministerial level projects and 9 projects established by provincial ministry of education and Hanzhong city. The relevant scientific research projects and achievements have won lots of prizes and have been reported by People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, etc. The teachers of this school take the lead to put forward the idea of pollution-free industry road of the economic development. And this idea has great influence on the green tropism of the economic development of Shannan.
