Day by day itinerary
Day 1
Leave form Xian to Urumqi by train, and the Silk Road tour begins.
Day 2
Travelling on the train, you can appreciate the grand desert of West China.
Day 3
View the Mountain of Fire along the way and tour the ancient city of Gaochang－the ancient capital of Western China with a history of thousands of years, the Garden of Desert Scenery, the Qanat－the local irrigation system, and the Grape Valley－a place rich in grapes. Along the way, you can also have the chance to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Dabancheng, the wind power station of Baili, and the Salt Lake, and then go back to Urumqi for sleeping. You should pay the dinner by yourselves.
Day 4
Leave for Yili by bus via Jinghe County－the largest production base for Chinese wolfberry. Arrive at Qingshui River in the evening and spend the night in this place.
Day 5
Leave for the Sarim Lake in the morning, and then visit the Fruit Valley and the Horgos Port. Reach Yining in the evening and admire the Yili River Bridge. Sleep in Yining.
Day 6
In the morning, go to the Na Lati Grassland－one of the four major grasslands in valley areas of China. Enjoy yourself in the ridottoes hold by the minorities, and spent the night in The Grassland Villa.
Day 7
Return to Wushi by bus in the morning and to Urumqi the evening. Spend the night in Urumqi.
Day 8
Tour the Heavenly Lake of Tianshan Mountain－a secret meeting place of the Queen Mother of the West (pay for the cableway and the cruise by yourselves). View the grand Bogeda Peak which has an altitude of 5445 meters, the steep Stone Gate, the springs and waterfalls, the Heilong pool, and the basin of the Queen Mother for feet washing. Then visit the jade carving factories and the Tianshan Pharmacy. Return to Urumqi in the afternoon, and leave for Xian in the evening by train.
Day 9 and Day 10
Arrive in Xian and finish the wonderful journey.
