Enrolling Category : students for the further education of Chinese Language and Culture (Long-term and Short-term Classes)
The beginning date:
1. Long-term class: normally, the learning period lasts one whole year with 2 terms; School starts in every February (spring class) and September(autumn class). Each term has 18 weeks, with 24 classes per week. The required courses are arranged in the morning and elective courses in the afternoon. Each term there is 1-or-2 outside learning practice such as visiting, interviewing and discussion around mid-term.Students who have abided by Taizhou University regulations and who has earned required exam scores, will be conferred Completion Certification of Taizhou University.
2. Short-term class: It is arranged according to students’requirements.
☆Course Arrangement
The course of Chinese as a foreign language mainly includes
Basic Chinese, Applied Chinese and Literary Works,etc.
All courses are mainly designed for long-term(1 year)students with the assistance of Short-term classes based on necessities at the same time. In both long-term and short-term classes all courses are subject to student’s Chinese level and learning purposes. All required courses of the two classes are: Chinese (elementary, intermediate and advanced ), Spoken Chinese and Listening, Chinese Reading and Writing, Chinese Newspapers Reading, Selected Works Reading and so on.
In addition, the following elective courses are available to all students:
(1) Calligraphy (2)Traditional Chinese Painting; (3) Chinese Kongfu (4) Survey of China (5) History of China, (6)Chinese Classic Works Appreciation (7) Chinese Literature, (8) Economic and Trade Chinese; (9) HSK (Chinese test) Exam-oriented Training, (10) Chinese Phonetics
Seminars and lectures:
The followings are available to all:
(1) Chinese Custom and Folklore (2)Tea and Diet Culture of China (3)Chinese Opera (4)Chinese Folk Music (5) Chinese Aesthetics.
※All courses and seminars mentioned above will be modified according to the student’s request and practical situation.
☆Accommodation& Medical-care conditions:
＊ There are separate buildings exclusively for overseas students with single rooms. Taizhou University provides convenient facilities such as air-conditioner, color TV, telephone, internet access, bathroom and hot-water shower.
＊ Overseas students can either have meals at the dining hall with delicious and varied Chinese and Western food or can cook by themselves in the public kitchen .
＊ The hospital of Taizhou University is open to all faculty and students in 24 hours. All overseas students can also see a doctor in Taizhou Hospital nearby.

Deadline for applications: December 30 (spring class), June 30 (autumn class)
＊Successful applicants will receive Letter of Admission and a “Visa Application for Foreigners to Study in China” (JW 202 Form).
＊With the Letter of Admission, JW202 Form and Foreigner Physical Examination Record and Blood Test Record, applicants can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate for visa application. With original documents mentioned above, applicants may come to our university for registration on the designated date on Letter of Admission.

Admission Regulations for Short-term Chinese Training Program of Taizhou University

The campus has Linhai and Jiaojiang sections. Taizhou University consists of 13 second grade schools, such as School of Humanities, School of Economic and Trade Management, School of Foreign Languages. The university offers 36 Bachelor’s Degree programs and 20 Associate Degree programs, which covers nine branches of subjects, such as literature, natural science, engineering, management, law, education, history, medicine, and economics. At present, Taizhou University has about 13,000 students. There are about 1,200 faculty members，among which are more than 300 teachers with professional titles. And the teachers holding Master’s degree make up 61.71 percent.
The university focuses on international communication and cooperation. Till now Taizhou University has established communicative and collaborative relations with about 20 universities from more than 10 countries. Six groups of foreign students have been admitted by Taizhou University. And the university sends students to foreign countries for study every year.
Taizhou University admits foreign students every year. In order to satisfy the foreign guests’ needs for Chinese study, the university starts to run short-term Chinese training program.
I. Time: The short-term classes are generally given twice every week, in the afternoon from the end of March to the end of May. There are 60 lessons in all.（Each lesson equals to 40 minutes）
II. Type: We adopt the small- scale class type. But there should be at least 5 students in each class.
III. Classroom: The classroom is on Taizhou University Campus in the East of Linhai City
IV. Courses: Chinese Basic Conversation Learning and Practice. (The courses can be changed in case of group registration)
V. Students: Foreigners with the Senior High School Certificate or above
VI. Fees (RMB): Tuition: RMB 2300; Books: paid according to the price printed on each book
