The Faculty of Informatics & Electronics was founded in 2000 with the intensified reform at Zhejiang University of Technology. Its precursor was the Department of Automation founded in 1978, Zhejiang Technical Institute of Silk. Currently, it is able to offer 5 bachelor’s programs, including Electronic and Information Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Information and Computing Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Digital Media and Technology. The School has cultivated a total number of over 2000 undergraduates and 49 graduates. Meanwhile, the Faculty is competent enough to host adult education. In the past years, the employment rate of the undergraduates has reached over 95%.
Up to now, the Faculty covers a number of more than 2100 full-time students. It boasts 2 master’s programs: Computer Applied Technology, Signal and Information Processing. Both of the two disciplines have formed their own features in various fields. It has a capacity of 91 staff among whom 33% are entitled senior titles, 85% are Doctoral degrees and Master’s degrees with 75% mid-aged and young teachers.
The Faculty attached great importance to scientific research. In the past years, it has undertaken and completed over 20 projects on national and provincial levels and 50 landscape-oriented projects. Most of the research results have got profound economic benefits. In recent 3 years, it has published more than 200 academic papers and 5 teaching materials and monographs. About 90 pieces of papers are embodied in SCI, EI, and published in the domestic prestigious academic journals.
The Faculty puts great emphasize on training the students’ manipulative ability and innovation. It is home to a strong and vivid discipline supervising team which often organizes the students to take part in diversified discipline competitions. And therefore, the Faculty has won a considerable number of awards on different levels.

Undergraduate students: 4-5years
Postgraduate students: 2-3years
Doctoral students: 3 years
Application time
The time for application is September to January for spring term, March to August for autumn term.
The time for enrollment is End of January or February for spring term, September for fall term.

For Bachelor’s degree:
Be above 18 years old, senior high school graduate, HSK3 certificate or above, in good physical condition.
For Master’s degree:
Have Bachelor’s degree or above, HSK3 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good physical condition.
For Doctoral degree:
Have Master’s degree or above, HSK3 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good physical condition.
