Guangxi Modern Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive public general higher education institution established in 1995 through the merger of Hechi Prefectural College of Education (founded in 1978), Guangxi Hechi Ethnic Industry Secondary Vocational School (founded in 1984) and Hechi Prefectural Ethnic Branch of Guangxi Radio and TV University (founded in 1984).
Currently, it has a student population of over 15,000. The college comprises 11 teaching units, including the School of Intelligent Metallurgy, School of Teacher Education, School of Sports and Arts, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Business, School of Architectural Engineering, School of National Defense, School of Marxism, School of Continuing Education and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. It offers 43 enrollment majors covering 13 professional categories such as energy, power and materials, civil engineering and architecture, as well as finance, economics and trade, providing students with a wide range of professional options.
The college has built 8 first-class training bases in Guangxi, including Industrial Robot Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Preschool Education, Metallurgical Technology, Architectural Decoration Engineering Technology, UAV Application Technology, Photovoltaic Engineering Technology and Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Technology, along with more than 50 basic laboratories and off-campus training bases. The total value of its experimental and training equipment exceeds 500 million yuan.
