For foreign students, the Chinese language courses include three parts: courses for language skills, courses about Chinese language and literature and the elective courses. These three types of courses help the students to improve their ability of reading, writing and listening. Through the learning of modern Chinese, ancient Chinese, and Chinese literature, the students will know much about the history of Chinese literature.
Undergraduates needn’t to study Military Theory and attend the military training, they also need not to choose those curricula such as Political Theory, College English, Sport and Health and other comprehensive crossed curricula. But Survey of China is compulsory.
Students of Chinese Language must choose a second foreign language.
Length of study: The standard length of the study is 4 years.
Application time: The deadline of the application is June 19th 2009. Applicants will receive their admission response within 45 days if all materials are received before the aforementioned deadlines. And the application fee is about 500 RMB.
Application requirement: Between 18 and 40 years of age; high school diploma or higher academic degree certificate; average grade of B or higher.
Three or above for applicants to the Chinese Language Program designed for international students. Those whose HSK level is below the requirement but who have received at least 300 hours training of the Chinese language may apply for the Trial Undergraduate Program.
Application materials
1. Completed “Application Form for International Students” issued by BNU;
2. High school diploma;
3. High school transcript;
4.HSK certificate(In order to apply for a Trial Undergraduate Program, Chinese Language Program applicants whose HSK level is below three should provide a certification of at least 300 hours training in Chinese);
5. Two recommendation letters from two teachers;
6. Application fee of RMB 500 yuan (cash or check);
7. Two passport-sized photos.
