Tour Schedule:
Day 1: Beijing-Pingyao by overnight train 1163 (19:03-next day 07:31 am)
Our English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or apartment at 17:00 in the evening, drive to Beijing west railway station and take the train to Pingyao.(1163, 19:03-07:31, Soft sleeper, 4 people share one compartment). Overnight on the train.
Day 2: Pingyao-Beijing by overnight train 1164 (21:49-next day 10:23 am) (B/L/D)
Upon arrival at the Pingyao train station, you will be met by our local guide (she/he will hold a sign with your name in front of your carriage on the platform inside the train station) and driver. After breakfast, start your full day tour of Pingyao.
First visit the Ancient City Wall of Pingyao City. Among the 'Three Treasures' of Pingyao, the City Wall is rated highest. Although there has been repeated renovations, the city walls, streets, shops, temples and other buildings are still in a very good condition.
Then move on to the Ming Qing Street. This street is in the South Street in Pingyao, and has been the commercial center of Pingyao town since ancient time. There are full of antiquated buildings on the two sides of the street. Walking down this street, you will feel that time will come back again.
Afterwards, visit the Rishengchang Exchange Shop. It is located at West Avenue, where was called 'the First Financial Street of Great Qing (1644-1911)'. Rishengchang Exchange Shop is the earliest bank in China, and known nowadays as the 'Countryside Grandfather' of sundry Chinese banks.
Finally we will visit Temple of the City God. As one of the best preserved temples in China, the wonderful wood carvings, stone sculptures, painted sculptures and mural paintings in the Temple of the City God reflect excellent craftsmanship. The two murals in the temple are art treasures that are rarely seen in China.
After dinner, take the overnight train back to Beijing.(1164, 21:49 - next day 10:23 am, Soft sleeper, 4 people share one compartment). Overnight on the train.

Day 3: Arrive in Beijing
Your train arrives in Beijing at 10:23am. Our tour guide in Beijing will expect you in front of your train carriage and then take you to the car or van and transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. (Service Ends)

B. The train information listed above is for reference, it might be changed due to holidays, late booking, or any other unpredicted reasons, we keep such right without any prior notice. However, your travel time and numbers of the scheduled attractions will never be shortened.

D. Only traditional Chinese meals are planned in Pingyao, if this is not preferable please let us know in advance.
