Lhasa-Shigatse-Gyantse-Tsedang
Day 1
Fly in and transfer to hotel, afternoon is free to adjust for altitude.
Day 2-3
Sightseeing in Lhasa.
Day 4
Start early for Shigatse along Tsangpo River. 4-5 hours to Shigatse. Affternoon is free.
Day 5
Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse. After lunch to Gyantse, upon arrival, visit Kumbum Stupa and Pacho Monastery.
Day 6
Start at 8 a.m. for Tsedang via Yumdrok Lake. It takes 6-7 hours to get to Tsedang means "play ground for monkeys".
Day 7
Samye to Tsedang via Chimpuk caves. Start to visit Samye Monastery and Samye CHimpuk caves. Chimpuk caves are 15 kilomters from Samye. It is said that there are 180-spring wate, 180 meditation caves, 180 Sky-burials. At present, only the meditation caves are visible. From May to Sept, hundreds of local monks and nuns come here to meditate. In the past, some of Tinet senior Lamas used to meditate here.
Day 8
Depart from Tsedang and fly out.
