The School of Civil & Hydraulic Engineering at Dalian University of Technology was originated from Civil Engineering and Architecture Department (1949~1955). It was renamed in 2002. It has made great progress since ite establishment.
There are six programs for undergraduate studies, fifteen programs of study with authority to confer Master's degree, thirteen programs of study with authority to confer Doctoral degree, two mobile stations for post-doctoral research programs, two national key branches of learning, four provincial key branches of learning, and a state key laboratory.
The School enjoys a good reputation for its experienced and high leveled staff. There are 200 faculty and staff members, among whom 4 are members of two academies (the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering), two members of the discipline assessment group of the state council academic degree Committee, five Special professors of Cheung Kong Scholars Program, 49 doctoral supervisors and 55 professors. The total enrollment of students is 2601, including 1312 undergraduates, 765 postgraduates and 524 doctoral students.
The School owns advanced and well-coordinated laboratory group and powerful faculty staff. It has been undertaking a number of research projects at various levels, and has obtained quite enriched research results, of which 18 have been awarded State Science and Technology Progress Award, and 90 awards at provincial and ministry levels.

Application time
For undergraduate students, the time for application is before July 20 every year.
For postgraduate students, the deadline for application time is July 20 every year.
For Doctoral students, the time for application is the same.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma or equivalent, under the age of 25, score list, in good health and HSK5 certificate or above.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should have Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, recommended by two associate professors or above, score list, under the age of 35, in good health and HSK5 certificate or above.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree or equivalent, recommended by two associate professors or above, under the age of 40, paper for Mater’ degree, score list, in good health and HSK6 certificate or above.
Note: For Bachelor’s degree, the applicants will have an interview and an examination in July.
For Mater’s degree and Doctoral degree, the applicants will have an interview in June and an entrance examination and some related affairs.
