Dalian University of Technology 
 
Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is one of the key national universities under the direct jurisdiction of the Chinese Ministry of Education. DUT, located in the coastal city of Dalian, is a multi-disciplined university concentrating on science and technology and covering economics, management, applied liberal arts, foreign languages and social sciences as well. There are graduate school, 19 institutes, 33 departments and 35,000 enrolled students.  
 
DUT has been active in academic exchange and cooperation both home and abroad. She has signed academic agreements with more than 120 institutions of higher education or scientific research in more than 20 different countries and regions. 
 
School of International Culture Exchanges 
 
The School of International Cultural Exchanges was set up to take the responsibility for the enrollment, education and management of international students.  To date, about 4,000 students from more than 50 countries have studied here, pursuing their bachelor's, master's degree or Chinese language training. Through many years' practice, the school has gained in experience and reputation in the area of teaching and management.

Qualifications for Admission
 
For Master Degree Programs
 
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, be in good health and under the age of 35. Admission is based on the recommendation of two professors (full or associate) and the result of the examination set by the university. A Chinese level of HSK5 or above (for art students HSK7 or above) is required. Courses are generally given in Chinese.  
 
For PHD Programs
 
Applicants must hold a master's degree, be in good health and under the age of 40. Admission is based on the recommendation of two professors (full or associate) and the result of DUT's entrance examination. A Chinese level of HSK5 or above (for art students HSK7 or above) is required. (There are no HSK requirements for those who applied for courses taught in English.)
 
Application Procedure
 
·     Applicants can download the Application Form in the email.
·     Applicants should submit the completed Application Form, four photos (3cmX4cm), copy of HSK certificate, copy of the last academic degree certificate, transcript and recommendation letters.
·     A reply will be sent as soon as possible by the school on receipt of the above materials. The Admission Notice, the Application for Entry Form (JW202) and Physical Examination Form will be sent to the enrolled applicants, who could apply for an entry visa to China by presenting the above-mentioned documents, personal passports and the Physical Examination Records to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their respective countries.
·     Dead line for application: 30th June. (The academic semester begins in early September)
 
Bachelor Degree Programs
 
1.  Chinese Major (Orientations: Economics and Business/Enterprise Management)
 
The four-year program emphasizes the practical use of Chinese in international enterprise management and international business and trade. Overseas students are expected to have a command of Chinese knowledge and skills which are required in business and trade. This program aims to cultivate advanced and applied talents in Chinese to meet the needs of international market.
 
Qualifications for Admission
 
1. The applicants must hold a high school diploma; graduation certificate and transcript are required.
2. Chinese proficiency requirement: HSK 3 or above, HSK certificate and score report are required.
※ Those who do not hold an HSK certificate should take part in the enrollment test.
3. Being in good health and aged 18 or above.  
 
Note:
1) Those whose Chinese proficiency reaches HSK 5 or above while providing HSK certificate and score report can be enrolled in the second grade if meeting the other two requirements.
2) Those whose Chinese proficiency reaches HSK 6 or above while providing HSK certificate and score report can be enrolled in the third grade if meeting the other two requirements.
3) Those who skip the first or the second grade are required to take and pass the courses such as ancient Chinese and PC Chinese Edit, etc. 
 2. Other Undergraduate Programs 
 
DUT is offering approximately 50 bachelor's programs (4 years). Besides Chinese major, all the majors enroll overseas students. Some of the majors are as follows:

Qualifications for Admission
 
The applicants must hold a high school diploma, be in good health and over the age of 18, with a Chinese proficiency level of HSK5 or above (for art students HSK6 or above). On passing the exams set by the university in accordance with the program chosen, the applicants can be admitted to do a bachelor's degree program at the university.

Chinese Learning 
 
Long-term classes and short-term classes are provided to the Chinese-language learners all over the world. 
 
Long-term Classes (at least half a year): enroll twice a year in March and September respectively, offering elementary, intermediate and advanced courses of five levels. Students are expected to undertake 22~24 hours of compulsory courses and 2~8 hours of selective courses per week from Monday to Friday.

Threshold and Elementary Classes: intensive reading (including grammar), listening comprehension, oral Chinese, Chinese character reading and writing
 
Intermediate and Advanced Classes: intensive reading (including grammar), listening comprehension, oral Chinese, Chinese writing, Chinese reading and Chinese culture. 
 
Selective Courses
 
Shadowboxing, calligraphy, ancient Chinese, business Chinese, Chinese and foreign movie class, and coaching classes for HSK Test. 
 
Features of the Program: focusing on the training of the students' ability to practically use the language; class size is limited to an average of 20 people; Chinese language practicing activities for a week is organized every semester with all students participating; a good language environment is provided by the school for students to practice in. We have highly qualified and experienced teaching staff, which ensures the quality of teaching and significant teaching achievements.
 
Qualifications for Admission
 
Anyone who holds a high school diploma or its equivalent and is in good health and aged 18 to 60 is eligible to apply.

Living Guidance
Meal
 
Students have a multitude of dining options within walking distance of campus. Students will be able to eat in the University dining hall or at any of the many local restaurants immediately off campus. A public kitchen is also available for participants who would like to prepare their own food. The approximate daily cost of food is 20-40RMB. 
 
Banking and Shopping
 
There are banks near the university, such as Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China which make it convenient for students to open an account and change currency.There are several shops on campus with 6 buses around going to the shopping center of the city. 
Medical Treatment and Insurance
 
The insurance fee is on the overseas students' own expense. School hospital is at service for common illness while the second attached hospital to Dalian Medicine University (Buses No.23, 901 and 406 can reach the hospital.) is available for the acute and serious sickness. Medical insurance and life accident insurance should be purchased by overseas students who have no insurance in China.
Transportations and Communications
 
The university is 14 kilometers outside of the city center, that is, 30-35 minutes taking buses No. 23, 901 and 406, or 20 minutes by taxi. It takes 15 minutes by taxi to reach Dalian International Airport, which is approximately 12 kilometers away.
 
There is internet access and direct dial telephone (or 200 telephone) in student dormitory. Letters will be sent to the international students' office. There is a post office at the west gate of the school where express mail and packages can be delivered.
