Tour Schedule
Day 1:
Our experienced English-speaking tour guide & private car/van will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 6:30am. Then drive (190 miles, 3.5 hours driving) directly to Shanhaiguan Pass. Upon arrival, you will visit Shanhaiguan Pass (known as "The First Pass under Heaven" since ancient times), then hike on the wall. Drive to Laolongtou (Old Dragon's Head)- the starting point of the 4,000-mile long Great Wall. Explore the Laolongtou Great wall for 30 minutes- 1 hour while enjoying both the wall and the Bohai Sea.
Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant at approximately 12:30.
In the afternoon, drive about 20 minutes to get to Jiaoshan Great Wall (20 minutes driving distance, the only section of the Great Wall that overlooks the ocean from the wall), hike at Jiaoshan for 3 hours or so, then transfer back to Shanhaiguan where you will stay overnight in a 3-Star hotel.
Dinner will take place in this hotel.
Meal: Lunch + Dinner
Day 2:
Leave (check-out) hotel at 8:00am after having breakfast. Drive about 40 minutes to get to the Jiumenkou Great Wall- a picturesque section with a river running underneath the wall. Hike on this section for about 1.5 hours, and see the Great Wall Tunnel– a 3,700-feet long tunnel. Locals says the tunnel was built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to hide soldiers, but officals say it was constructed as an air-raid shelter after the founding of the PRC (1949). This unique structure is certainly worth a visit.
Lunch in a local restaurant, then transfer back to Beijing, arrive at your Beijing hotel/apartment at approximately 6:00 pm.

A. Hotel: the hotel you will stay in is a quality 3-Star hotel, centrally located in the town. Like many other 3-Star hotels, it has a western bathroom, 24-hour hot water, free tooth brush, shampoo, etc, all available. Be sure to bring your passport!
B. Our Guide will accompany you on the wall the entire time.
C. Hiking on the wall will be extensive, so please be sure to drink plenty of water and wear appropriate shoes. Hiking shoes are highly recommended.
