The School of Humanities and Social Science of Lanzhou University of Technology was established in 2004. Its precursor was the department of Social Science established in 1985. With 20 years’ effort and development, under the principle of "science and education to rejuvenate the nation”, "talent people to strengthen the country’, the School has actively created new conditions and has made great progress in discipline construction, faculty structure, scientific research and library and so on.
Up till now, the School covers 5 teaching departments including Department of Law, Department of Administrative Management, Department of Ideological and Political Education, Center of Humanities and all-round education, and Center of Chinese as a Foreign Language. It offers 2 master programs: Marxism Theory, and Ideological and Political Education. About 8 teams of disciplines and 10 discipline orientations have been set up in the school.
The teaching power of the School is strong and solid. The faculty has a high education background, and a balanced structure of its members. At present, it owns a total number of 56 staff with 3 professors, 18 associate professors, 2 Doctoral degrees and 13 master supervisors. The School puts great emphasize on scientific research, interfering the fields of philosophy, law, history, literature and education, etc. Since 1996, the faculty has published more than 20 teaching materials and monographs, 400 academic papers with over 10 research results awarded provincial titles.
It began to enroll undergraduate students of Law in 1998 and students of Administrative Management in 2005. Currently, it has an enrollment of 308 students. The School attaches great importance to teaching quality and teaching reform. It plays a crucial part in training innovative thinking, political and moral qualities, and humanities quality of the students.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree:
Be above 18 years old, senior high school graduate, HSK3 certificate or above, in good health.
For Master’s degree:
Have Bachelor’s degree or above, under the age of 40, HSK6 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
For Doctoral degree:
Have Master’s degree or above, under the age of 45 HSK6 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
